A message from Superintendent Clark

On April 5, we will have made it to the fourth quarter and the end of the 2020-2021 school year will be in sight. COVID-19 brought many challenges to the school year, but it also brought the need for us to look at some of our practices and pushed us to change. We had to look at our instructional models, technology integration, grading practices and standard alignment to name just a few. The work has been difficult for both students and staff, but I am confident that PRB will come out of this year stronger because of it. Once the last quarter of the school year begins we only have one
scheduled vacation day, Memorial Day, left until school is out for summer vacation.

During this busy period, PRB is required to administer the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCAs). The MCAs will be administered to students in grades 3-8 and 11 in the area of Math, 3-8 and 10 in Reading, and grades 5, 8 and 10 in Science. The testing is currently scheduled for the last two weeks in April and the first week in May. All schools are still waiting on guidance from the Minnesota Department of Education on how the assessments will be administered with distance learning as an option. We will keep you posted as more information becomes available.

The Winter sports season is coming to a successful end. Something I was very nervous about in this time of COVID. Our student athletes and coaches did an amazing job under the circumstances. Our girls and boys basketball programs made it to the playoffs with first time head coaches in their related sport, and the Roadcrew wrestling team made it to State as a team and are sending 8 wrestlers to the State Sections as individuals. Our Roadcrew head coach,Travis Hoffarth and assistant coach Justin Franke were named section 8AA Head Coach and Assistant Coach of the year. Congratulations to all of them.

I am very proud of the students and staff of “Tiger” Nation!

Wondering where PRB is headed in the future?

The school board in conjunction with stakeholder groups made up of staff, students, parents, and community members develops a 5 year strategic plan meant to guide the district's decisions and help the district achieve its mission and goals.
