A message from Superintendent Clark

In just a few weeks we will bid farewell to 2023 and welcome the possibilities that lie ahead. I can’t help but take a moment to reflect on the journey we’ve shared this year. It has been a remarkable twelve months filled with challenges, triumphs, and the unwavering spirit that is Pine River-Backus Schools.

The year 2023 presented us with time to reestablish the importance of personal connections. We were able to reflect on the extraordinary resilience of individuals, teams and the greater communities that makeup the Pine River-Backus School District. Together, the Tiger Spirit stood strong, supported one another, and emerged even stronger.

PRB achieved significant milestones that deserve celebration. Whether it was personal accomplishments, professional successes, or collective achievements, each step forward has contributed to the growth and evolution of PRB Schools. The Road Crew Wrestling Team competed for the team championships at the State Tournament. Volleyball went to the State Tournament for the second year in a row. The Robotics Team continues to excel and grow. And the “Little Mermaid Jr.” showcased the theatrical and musical talent of our school. These are only a few of the happenings at PRB.

This year has been a catalyst for change and innovation. The Kindergarten through grade 3 teachers have been busy implementing new strategies in reading and writing. The high school staff are working on the new mandated graduation requirements and curriculum. On November 27, PRB began using the new Health Services Center that is home to the nurses office as well as Youth Family Services and Northern Pines.

As we embark on a new chapter in 2024, let’s carry forward the lessons learned, the connections made, and the strength discovered. January 16th will mark the beginning of the third quarter which means we have reached the halfway point for the school year.

Thank you for being an integral part of this incredible journey. Here’s to the memories we’ve created and the unwavering hope that propels us into the future.

Wishing you a joyous holiday season and a New Year filled with promise and possibilities!

Warm regards,

Jon Clark, Superintendent
