Chromebook Troubleshooting
Chromebooks are easy to troubleshoot when you or your student is experiencing problems. Try these simple options (Not necessarily in this order).
- Shutdown & restart by using shutdown option in the tray (Don't just close the lid)
- Make sure you do not have a lot of tabs open and/or a ton of files in your downloads
- If the battery is dead, make sure to charge it for more than a few minutes. Also make sure the parts on the charger are tightly joined together and don't have any frayed or broken wires.
- For giant/magnified text, go under accessibility in settings and revert to defaults
- Strange letters typing is usually the keyboard not being set to US in the settings
- Strange behavior like random sites opening is usually caused by a bad extension. Under the puzzle piece in the top right of Chrome, disable unknown or unneeded extensions
- Under settings, go all the way to the bottom and click "Restore settings to default"
- If these fail, bring it to the tech office.
